Imagine Terry Gilliam goes to Japan, indulges in a bit of Sake, and decides to make furniture ;)

The pieces are unique constructions combining two-dimensional inlaid images and three-dimensional furniture forms, crossing the boundary of reality into illusion. Inspiration for the work comes from diverse sources; japanese block prints, Popeye cartoons, and popular iconography from east and west. This lends a dreamlike quality to John's work, as if it were "furniture built in a dream." >>continue>>
